January 2009. The meeting was held at Seasun Beach Resort in Sta. Cruz (our Northern most Member) Discussion on plans for 2009, possible elections, SEC registration and the upcoming Mango Festival San Sculpturing. Our thanks to Michael and also to Nelly for the venue and merinda supplied.
December 2008. The meeting was held at Sajorda River Park, along with the Christmas Party. A grat time was had by all. Our thanks to Arch Sajorda and all of the Members who attended.
November 2008. The meeting, was held at Highlands Camp
and Conference Center, Iba, Zambales.. The President, Arch. Quin Sajorda called
the meeting into order at 2.30pm. Rev Paul J.Ebert was present to open and
welcome all the attendees. He gave the group a brief view of the place and
what they can offer. ZROA wishes to thank Rev. Ebert and his staff for the
warm accommodation and the hearty “merienda” served. Before the meeting proper
commenced, however, the invited group from FIESTA PACIFIC ASIA, INC., who
came all the way from Manila, was given time to present and explain their
product to the members. They presented a software on Streamlining Operation
of Resort and Hotel. They explained how the software can integrate, simplify
and make hotel and resort operations more efficient, thus make decision making
more effective. Shown was a specific sample of the front desk operation module.
They provided the group with a binder that explains their product, including
hotels they already serve, mostly in the Middle East (the software started
in Dubai) and some in the Philippines. The company provides 24-7-365 support
for their system should a problem occurs. After a brief question and answer
portion, the product presentor distributed cased note pads and pens to all
the members present. Merienda soon followed, courtesy of Highlands, the host
member.
During the meeting that followed, The North Phil. Tourism and Agro Product
exhibit fair on November 14 – 16, 2008 was the main focus. Since ZROA
personifies the tourism aspect of Zambales, it is imperative to participate
in this exhibit to promote our resorts, hotels, restaurants and allied businesses.
All members were asked to submit tourism collaterals like leaflets, pictures,
etc. for the promotion of their respective establishment at the same time
requested for volunteers to man the booth. Since few volunteered and time
assurance was not guaranteed, the body agreed that all members contribute
P100 each to defray expenses for food and allowance of the person who will
be commissioned to man the booth. It was agreed to get 1 personnel to be paid
P500/day for the 3 day affair. The rest of the amount will be used for incidentals
related to the decoration of the booth. The opening of the exhibit will
be on the 14th of November at 4pm and Zambales Nite will be from 6 to 8pm.
A cultural show will be presented and cocktails will be served. Everyone is
enticed to attend this cultural night of Zambales.
Last day of submission of leaflets, banners, decors
at the tourism office will be Tuesday 14th. Arch. Quin Sajorda may also bring
a TV and computer for video presentations.
October 2008. The meeting was held at Sonali Cafe in Iba, our thanks to Roy Sona and Sandra Reyes for the fine snacks and beverages. There was discussion on the following items; Life Guard training, Pres. Sajorda is working with the Provincial Tourism Office on this matter, it was also suggested that the Provincial Tourism Office coincide a "Baywatch" style life saving system for the entire Province, Roger Bound to present a presentation paper on the subject for their concideration. The upcoming Central Luzon Tourism Fair, to be held at SM Clark this coming November 14, 15 & 16. The Prov' Tourism Office will again be supplying a booth for ZROA and IHRRA Members to display their brochures Etc. Our thanks to them for that. There will be a roster organizedat the next meeting for ZROA Members to assist in manning the stand, this is your opportunity to interact directly with your potential customers. The coming Eco Tourism Development workshop to be held either late this month, or early November, ZROA to be adequately represented. Report on the recent Customer Care Seminar, presented by the Prov' Tourism Office and Department of Tourism, Pres. Sajorda to make the documentation available to Members in a medium for computers. There will be a workshop on computerization of Businesses later this Month, ZROA to be represented. Roy Sona spoke on the possibility of the Prov' Government being able to enlist the assistance of ABS CBN in promoting Eco Tourism in Zambales, "Tel"' from the PTIO to follow up on it. Roger spoke on the problem that had occurred with the company "hosting" the website, the problem is now resolved and the site working properly. There was a request from the Prov' Tourism Office for ZROA Members to supply to them a CD or DVD of photos of your Resort to supliment their promotional materials. Next Meeting will be at Highlands Camp and Conference Center in Iba on Tuesday November 11. In closing there was a generous offer for ZROA to hold the Associations Christmas Party at the ABS CBN eco Park in Iba.
September 2008. The meeting was held at Palmera Garden in Iba, our thanks to Vilma and the staff of Palmera for the hospitality and merinda. Welcome to new Members, Sonali Cafe in Iba and Villa Kiana Inn in San Narciso. There was lengthy discussion on the following; Arch Sajorda presented a Video presentation on the Eco Tourism plans of the Provincial Tourism Office and spoke on the newly formed committees and plans for development of a number of areas, Roger Bound suggested that it should be brought to the attention of the Committees that appropriate signs and directions should also be part of the project, also a visitors information center should be included, Arch. Sajorda to report same to the committees. Life Guard training, Arch Sajorda to follow up with Red Cross and supply dates available and costs at the next meeting. Provincial Tourism Office's "Zambales' Finest" accreditation, there was discussion on Item 7 as some areas of Zambales do not have Internet availability, Roger to prepare letter to Tourism Office. Surf Zambales Promotion, unfortunately Elvie was not present due to a Medical Emergency, Arch Sajorda presented a Video presentation that She had supplied with details of the proposal. August 2008: The August Meeting was held at Rama International Beach Resort in Botolan, our thanks to Roger & Marichu Bound for the venue and the merinda supplied. Special guest was Ms. Elvie Medina, Elvie is a promotions specialist and is planning a special promotion of "SURF ZAMBALES" to promote Zambales as the nearest surfing venue to Manila. Thsi is proposed for October 18 and will need the assistance of Members, it is expected to bring a large number of visitors for a festive weekend of Surfing, Rock Concerts and much more. PLEASE BE AT THE NEXT MEETING FOR MORE ON THIS. Also in attendance were representatives from the Provincial Tourism, Investments and Promotions Office, they also are most enthusiastic about the plans that Elvie has.
July Meeting was again held at Sajorda River Park, our thanks to Arch. Sajorda for the venue and merinda. This meeting saw a much better turn out of Members, there was a Report on the Presidents trip to Thailand, at the expense of the Provincial Government, to witness first hand the introduction of sustainable "ECO" tourism. This was a most interesting and enlightening report, apparently our Provincial Government is eager to start with something similar here. There was a report on Promotions and the web site, with again discussion on the ZROA "Zambales" brochure. Also a letter from Mr. Robert Allana of Damnit Clothing offering Souvenir Tee Shirts to all Members on a "Consignment Basis" You can contact Robert on 0916 788 6231 or check out His website at www.damnitclothing.co.nr. June Meeting was held at Sajorda River Park, our thanks to Arch. Sajorda for the venue and merinda. Unfortunately it was a low turn out of Members. Please lets do better for the next meeting.
Special Report; Zambales Mango Festival and Domorokdok Festivals

The Mango Festival, April 23 - 26, was a great success,
our Booth, directly at the Entrance, was well decorated with our Banners Etc.
Special thanks to Arch. Quintin Sajorda for the decoration items Etc. There
was however a lack of support from Members manning the stand. The Sand sculpturing
Competition, run and organized by ZROA was a great success and went very smoothly.
Out thanks to the Members who worked hard to make it successful. It was also
nice to see that ZROA Members cleaned all the Awards for "Best Landscaped
Resorts in Zambales" with Mango Adventure and Leisure Farm taking the
Top Honors with Dawal and Sajorda River Park making up the runners up, special
awards also went to Palmera Garden and Rama International Beach Resorts, well
done Members. Also our Committee Head of Promotions took out the Top honor
with 1st Place in the Photo Contest.
The Domororokdok Festival in Botolan, May 3 & 4 was also
highly successful. Hon. Mayor Yap, Mayor of Botolan and the Municipal Tourism
Office again supplied scpace for the Promotion of ZROA. Thanks to Dr. Tito
Doble of Ambay Botolan Beach Resort and the Staff of Rama for manning the
stand.
Our President Arch. Quin Sajorda accompanied the Provincial Tourism Office
on a trip to Thailand for a Tourism Confrence, nice to know
that the Provincial Government conciders ZROA an actice participant in the
Promotion of Tourism in Zambales. Our thanks to our Hon. Gov. Atty.Amor Deloso
for the trip and experience. We will all be awaiting Arch. Sajorda's report
at the June Meeting.
April 2008 The meeting was held at Megans Parisidio Beach Resort in Pundaquit, unfortuneatly our Host Vergie was not well and we all wish Her a speedy recovery, apologies were received from Dodo and Mark Ramos. There was discussion on Life guard training, the Sand Sculpturing Competion and the Landscaped Resorts Competion, all associated with the Mango Festival. There will be a more complete coverage and minutes of the meeting in a few days............
March 2008 The March meeting was held at Crystal Beach Resort in San Narciso. Our Thanks to the Ramos Family for the Venue and Merinda. Item of main concern is Life Guard Training, can Members supply participants for training in first week of April? All Zroa members are enjoined to send representatives to attend this training schedule on life saving by the RED CROSS. It will be held on the 1st week of April. Fee is P1,000.00. PLEASE SIGNIFY your intention before March 25 so the training workshop can be pushed through. Please contact Mark Ramos on 0920 797 2073 for details. February 2008. The meeting was held at Palmera Garden Hotel and Beach Resort in Iba. Our thanks to the Management and Staff for the venue and merinda. The main items of business discussion on ZROA running the Sand Sculpturing Competition to be held in conjunction with the Mango festival. A favorable reply was received from the Provincial DENR Office in regards to the lowering of environmental permit fees for ZROA Members exclusively. Discussion on spearheading major changes to Life saving training, sports promotion and mardigras type events for Zambales to raise awareness of the Resorts, feasibility studies are to be conducted. There was an application for Membership from Covelandia Beach Resort in Labrador Pangasinan, their reason to join is to promote their business by belonging to "Go ahead" groups and Associations, such as ZROA.
