WANTED NEWSLETTER WRITER & EDITOR.

REPORT on Public Hearing regarding Taxes. I attended the Public hearing at Botolan Municipal Council Chambers last October 12 regarding the changes to current Taxes and the Implementation of NEW taxes to be effective in the Province from January 01 2007. I was very disappointed with the number of people who attended, there are a number of Items in the proposed changes that greatly effect Resorts and Beaches and Videokes (of which a number of Resorts operate within their Resorts) Only Resort representation was myself, Botolan Wildlife Farm and Westcoast, I can only conclude that other Resorts in the area are not at all concerned about what may be being implemented, like the proposed 30% tax on gross receipts for entrance fees, implementation of a Governors Permit, and a Governors Environmental clearance all of which will have "annual" fees, even a tax on all delivery trucks, that will increase prices of everything that is delivered to you and other items of concern. The meeting took some 5 hours and I was able to push forward both my own opposition and that of Z.R.O.A. on all items that concern us. I feel that we had a favorable reaction regarding the 30% tax on entrance fees and think that Resorts and Beaches will be added to the list of exempted businesses, regarding the Governors ECC there is also a good chance that if you have a DENR ECC that you will be exempted from the Governors as it is double taxation on the same item, all others I think will possibly push through. With more opposition and more concerned faces at the meeting it could and should have been a much better result. The Meeting also held in Iba the same afternoon fielded only representatives from Palmera and La Playa Del Norte, not even a representative from the Iba Resort and Hotel operators association. Doesn't anyone realize that there is "strength in numbers". If current trends continue and overheads continue to increase then I think that we will start to see the numbers of Resorts and our members diminish as their businesses become unprofitable.

OCTOBER 2006

The Meeting was held at Botolan Wildlife Farm, our thanks to our Host Mrs. Juvy Zoller for the Venue, snacks and tour of the facility. We had 2 groups of Guests for the day, Ms. Kay Salumbides-Reyes from the Provincial Tourism and Investment Promotions Office who gave us a report and Powerpoint presentation on the Fil-Am trade fair held earlier in the USA She had a special word of thanks for Z.R.O.A. for their assistance in supplying materials, coleratials and a Package for them to Promote at the Fair. Apparently there was a lot of interest. So now we wait over the next few months and see if we get some feedback from this Promotion. Remember this is the very first time that we have had the opportunity to try such a Promotion, so it will be of great interest to see what business it may generate. Second Guests were Mr. Joselito Macapinlac, Mr. Rodel Jimenez and Ms. Eileen Tulio from Standard Insurance Co. who spoke on Insurance and especially about Comprehensive General Liability (CGL) any Members with Insurance questions can contact either Mr. Macapinlac or Ms. Eileen Tulio at 047 223 7125. There was also long discussion on the Proposed Tax changes that are being planned by the Provincial Government of Zambales, these include additional Real Property Taxes, Implementation of a Governors Permit including annual fees for same, implementation of an "Entertainment" tax of 30% of GROSS receipts for entrance to Resorts, and Beaches, a Governors E.E.C clearance plus many others. Roger Bound had drafted a "Position Paper" opposing the implementation of such Taxes this was adopted and signed by all the Members present and would be presented by Roger at the upcoming 2nd Public Hearing in Botolan on the 12th. that He will be attending to represent the members, a copy of the position paper can be downloaded or viewed here

SEPTEMBER 2006

A Special meeting was held with a number of the Executive and the Provincial Tourism and Investment Office in the Capital Offices, the Governor will be sending a contingent from this Department to show case Zambales as a Tourist destination. They requested if we, as an organization, could put a package together that could be promoted at the Los Angeles Fil Am Trade Faif at the end of the month. Which has been done.

General meeting was held at Mango Adventure & Lesiure Farm in Sta. Rita Cabangan, one of our new Members, we had a very interesting tour of their establishment which includes a Rock climbing wall, Paint gun Caombat range and ATV Track, with ATV's available for rental. The Resort is eunique and thoes that were not in attendance certainly missed out. Main business was the just completed Travel Mart in Manila and the upcoming U.S. Promotion. Out thanks to Donny and the Staff for the venue, merinda and hospitality.

AUGUST 2006

The August meeting was held at Highlands Camp in Iba. Our thanks to Highlands for the Venue and snacks supplied. Discussion on the Website, including Members being able to place a full page advertisment on the site. Discussion on the Advertisment in "Discover Philippines" also the late distribution of the publication. Dodo to follow up. There will be an International Surfing Competition at Crystal Beach San Narciso on August 19 & 20. It would be a good idea for Members to drop by and observe as Surfing could be promoted at most Beaches in Zambales. There will be a Eco tourism and Agrifair in Central Luzon, Gabbi' from T.R.D. to attend and to represent Z.R.O.A. as well as T.R.D. Discussion o9n Meeting venues, it was decided to stay with the "Roving" format, but with 2 changes to this years schedule, next month will be at Mango Camp in Cabangan and November is changed to TRD in Iba so we can get to meet these new Members.

JULY 2006

Meeting was held at the Capital Building in conjunction with the Provincial Tourism and Investments Office meeting. There was discussion on the Development of Mt. Tapalao as an "Ecotourism" site, also on monitoring of numbers of Tourism arrivals, including the collection of information such as Nationalities Etc. Discussion on the forth coming Tourism Fair at Mega Trade Hall on September 8, 9 & 10. All information, brochures Etc. to be at Provincial Tourism Office by August 15.

Apologies for the current lack of updates, but due to commitments and health I have been unable to get everything done. "Webmaster." Hopefully there will be plenty to report after the July 31 meeting at the Capital.

MAY 2006

Report coming soon.

APRIL 05 (There was no "Members meeting" in April because of Holy Week Etc.)

There was a Special executive Meeting held at Marimar Beach Resort in Iba to plan the Election and 10th Anniversary Celebrations.

MARCH 2006

The meeting was held at Aplaya Del Subic, Capatti Resort, our thanks to Flor for the venue and snacks, again unfortunately the attendance was not great, better, but not great. There were proposals from "The Bay" and from "District Dispatch" ( a Manila based "letter box drop" advertising newsletter) Both were discussed, Roger Bound is to liaise further with "The Bay" and District Dispatch are considering an offer. More on that as it progresses. There was discussion on the upcoming 10th Anniversary of Zambales Resort Owners Association, this is the longest standing association of it's type in Zambales, it has done a lot, not only for it's Members and the Industry, but also it has gained the "reputation of getting it done" . No matter how difficult. Right now it is in the best state that it has ever been in, with active members, active committees, active promotions and a reputation with not only the Private sector, but with Government Departments and Department heads as an organization with Vision, Direction and Drive. Lets build on this for the next decade also. There are a number of "The old Guard" that due to various pressures and reasons will not be re-standing at the Election. New and enthusiastic people will be needed to fill these positions, so please lets see a big turn out at the "A.G.M." with lots of Members wishing to fill the voids and keep the association growing and supplying the needs of the Members. There will be volunteers required to man the Booth that we will have at the "Mango Festival" in Iba in April, a great opportunity to promote your business, if you have some time to spare please call Roger or Dodo to go on the list of participating Members. SPECIAL TRAINING REPORT, February 28 and March 01 a "Training Seminar" was held by the Dept. of Trade and Industry, this was a very professional seminar, dealing with 2 different subjects, the Tuesday was devoted to "Productivity Improvement" and the Wednesday to "Effective Customer Service" I sat in on the majority of both and can say that these were two of the most professionally presented seminars that I have been to, and I have attended many, including in the U.S. Japan, Korea and Australia, the biggest point here is that these seminars were completely FREE to our Members, courtesy of the Dept. of Trade and Industry, thanks also to Rama for supplying the venue free of charge. Attendees could bring their own foods if they wish of avail of Rama,s offer of snacks and foods to the Members that required same at a price of only P150.00 per day. The only down point is that not enough of the Members took advantage of it. Our SPECIAL thanks to the D.T.I. and also to Ms. Marilou G. Fermin, Provincial Director who personally directed and presented the Wednesday seminar. Also there is an "Open Invitation" for any Member wishing and willing to stand for Election, to attend the Executive Meeting on April 05 and have a "First hand" look at what is required.

SPECIAL REPORT Travelmart and Dinner Dance.

This is a special note for all THAT DID NOT ATTEND either the Travelmart or the Valentine Day Dinner Dance. The following are my personal views and not necessarily those of the Association. Firstly the Travelmart, do you members have so much business that you don't need more, I wish I was in that situation, or is it that you have a piece of property on the beach which you use for a residence and pick up a little extra income in summer? Which ever it is it's possibly lucky that you did not attend the Travelmart as the 3 Busses full of Manila Travel Agents, 145 of them in all, looking for business in Zambales were able to concentrate their efforts on the only two members that attended. Needless to say though it certainly gave the Travel Agents the opinion that Zambales is DEAD as a Tourist destination as far as they are concerned, they were hoping to be able to put agreements in place with at lease 50 Resorts, not just 2. So their "BUS TOUR" of interested Resorts became a visit to 2 only Resorts, what a waste of a 2 day visit to Zambales. If you are not interested in business "why bother belonging to ZROA ?" Secondly the Dinner Dance, we have a Social Committee for the First time and low and behold they have got in and done something, my personal congratulations to Delores Whitney for the fine effort She made to make this event a success, the 5 only Members that attended had a really great time, good music, good food and good company. Those of you that did not return your tickets, please be prepared to pay for them next meeting as the catering was based on the number of tickets issued, so if you did not attend and did not surrender your tickets you will be required to pay for them.

February 2006.

The February meeting was held at Sgt. Juan Beach Resort in Candaleria, our thanks to Jay and the staff for the venue and the snacks supplied. A warm Welcome to new Members Seaun Beach Resort in Sta. Cruz and Mango Adventure Farn\m in Cabangan, our thanks also for their discounted offer of ATV's to all ZROA Members. There was discussion on the forthcoming trade and tourism fair to be held at the Olongapo Convention Center.

January 2006.

The Meeting was held at Ambay Botolan Beach Resort (Formally Arle Beach) Our thanks to Dr. Doble and His Wife for the use of the venue and the wonderful snacks Etc. There was discussion on the upcoming year and the special planning meeting held the week before, there was a reasonable attendance, but not as good as it should be. There was a representative, Francisco, from Organic Security and Detective Agency Inc. offering special discounts to ZROA Members for Security guards, if you need further information you can call Him on 0920 420 2687. PLEASE REMEMBER; This is your organization and without your participation and input, it is not fully functional, we NEED your Ideas, Concerns, Criticisms and Complaints if you have any, these are what make an Organization such as this truly efficient and effective. SO PLEASE PARTICIPATE ........ Next meeting will be setting the roster for volunteers to man the stand at the Travelmart to be held at the Olongapo Convention Center on February 10 to 12, this is the ideal opportunity to present and promote your business to a hundred plus Travel Agents.ALSO please support the first promotion of our "Social Committee" Tuesday February 14th Vallentine Dinner / Dance at Dream Plaza, tickets only P300.00 including food, great value.

2006 Planning Meeting. Held at Country Cottage Resort in Castellijos. A number of items were raised, especially Promotion, Attendance at Meetings and a number of suggestions were made. The following was resolved, we would look into contacting some media groups that specalize in promotion and raising of sponsorshi, most of these groups make their fees fro a percentage of what they gain in sponsorship, so cost to the Association should be neglegable. The following Committees were also formed. 1/ Membership, headed by Delores and Edwin. 2/ Attendance, headed by Flor. 3/ Social, headed by Delores and 4/ Finance, headed by Vilma. Please we need assistants so if you have a little spare time please volunteer to help. To make things easier a complete years calendar was drawn up, Click here for the full years schedule

December 2005.

The meeting and Christmas Party was held at La Gendenjoy Beach Resort in Iba. Our thanks to Cynthia and the Fermil Family for the venue and the hospitality. Items arising was the upcoming Travel Agents visit to SBMA and the :Travelmart" being conducted by "Subik" at the Olongapo Convention Center in January. "Subik" have kindly invited us to attend and are even supplying space for us to decorate and use to promote ourselves, our Businesses and Zambales at this Travel Mart. It is anticipated that there will be around 120 Travel Agents attend the meeting so itis important that you all supply, if you have them, brochures, calling cards and any promotional items you have that can be included in the welcome bag that will be given to the arriving representatives.

November 2005.

The meeting was held at Nora's Beach Resort in Pundaquit San Antonio, a fair representation was present. WE NEED MUCH MORE PARTICIPATION OF MEMBERS THOUGH. Guests were Dra. Tess Yap representing "Subik", Mr. Kevin Handorff and Mr. Martyn Willes of "The Bay" Magazine. New Members, Highlands Camp and Confrence Center, TRD Wellness Resort, Botolan Wildlife Farm, Seasun Beach Resort and Graceland Beach Resort and Megan's Beach Resort were welcomed to the Association. There were forms for Member Resorts to avail of the "Lifeguard" training to be held this week (Nov 14 - 18) at Country Cottage Resort, this has been heavily subsidized by the Governors Tourism and Investments Office and we extend our thasnks to Gov. Vic for His concern and assistance. Our thanks also to Nora for the meeting venue and the mereinda She supplied. The coming Christmas Party was discussed and the Venue will be at La Gendenjoy Beach Resort in Bangantalinga Iba, it is a meeting at 11:00 am followed by a "Pot luck" luncheon and party, there will be a raffle and exchange gift (P300 value) for thoes that wish to participate. Please invite your neighbour Resorts, wether they are Members or not, so we can all mingle and enjoy the Christmas Spirit.

October 2005.

Report: The Travel Mart in Manila last month, there were a number of Members travel down with the Palmera Garden Van, thanks Palmera, we were all warmly welcomed at the Zambales Booth and a number of Members helped Staff the booth and take the time to hand our our "Organisations" brochure along with their own litature and talk to people about Zambales and what it has to offer. This I feel was a very sucessful operation and we should look seriously at also having a stand at the forthcoming Travel Agents Fair nexy February that will also be held in Manila, more on that at the Next meeting.

The October meeting was held at Better Days Place Resort (Dream Plaza) Matain Subic, our thanks to Edwin Samala and His staff for the venue and snacks. There was an invitation extended to the Executive of "Subik" (Greater Subic Bay Tourism Bureau ) to attend so as we could discuss as to how our two Associations can liase and work in harmony for the good of both groups Members and the betterment of Tourism in the area. After much discussion it was decided that as Z.O.R.A. had been formed for a long time (since 1996) and was running sucessfully with it's major focus on the Resorts North of S.B.M.A. That it would remain as an indepent body, but work closly with "Subik" on promotional matters Etc. and they with us. It was suggested by Subik that Z.E.R.O. (as an Association) could join "Subik" and visa versa, thus giving our Members access to their promotional facilities and their Members access to ours. So if any Members of "Subik" ask that you display their brochures or promotional matters is your Resort please support in doing so and ask that they also do the same for your Resort. Subik are organizing a "Travel fair" November 24 -25 at the Olongapo Convention Centre and have invited us to join them, they will have 3 stands, Bataan, Subic and Zambales, we will be able to place our promotional materials there and we would like to ask Members to form a roster to assist in manning the booth, any one interested please call Roger Bound on 0918 922 2863 as He will receiving the information. There will also be special tourism booths during the 23rd. South East Asian Games (SEA Games) during November and December of which some of the competions will be held in or around SBMA we are invited to join with this also, again we could do with some man power for that. Both groups will also be assisting each other with items such as links to each others web sites Etc. Our thanks to all their Members that attended and we look forward to working together for the promotion of the Tourism Industry in all of Zambales, Subic and Bataan. We are also invited to attend the next meeting of "Subik" on October 20 at 2PM, I am still awaiting the venue at this time. Other Guests at the meeting was representatives from T.R.D. (Total Rural Development) who are planning a "Massage Training Course" the total time requires 500 hours and they are hoping to start their first course October 23 - 27 for more information contact TRD direct on 047 811 3603 or 0919 530 6967. Next Meeting Thursday November 09 Nora's Beach Resort in Pundaquit San Antonio, we will be visited by Mr. Kevin Hamdorf and Members of the Magazine "The Bay" which is expanding to cover the Clarke area and the Zambales Coast as well as just the Bay area. they are interested to possibly do an issue highlighting the "Features of Zambales" So please lets have as many Members as possible at the Meeting. Other guest will be Mr. Bruce Oliver from Environmental Protection of Asia Inc. to again ask all the Members assistance during the coming "Turtle" laying season, the Zambale Turtle Conservation Programe is again in full swing this year. .....................................Lets see you all at the meeting!.......................................................................s

September 2005 Induction of Officers;

The September meeting was held at Villa Loretta Beach Resort in Binoclutan Botolan, Villa Loretta is possibly the First ever Resort established Resort in Zambales with a History going back to the Early 1950's. The meeting was quite productive with discussion from Ms Roseanna Isla about the forth coming Issue covering Zambales. It was decided that an advertisment would be placed for all Members, this would require a levy of approximatly P1000.00 per Member. The Induction of Officers was performed by Hon. Congressman Tony Diaz. Our thanks to Mateo Incarnation, Owner of Villa Loretta who was also celebrating His 82nd Birthday and we wish Him many more to come.

August 2005 Annual General Meeting;

The Meeting was a sucess with a good turn out of Members, nice to see, possibly due to the little "Love Letter" everyone received. Our thanks to our Hosts La Playa Del Norte, in Iba for the venue and snacks. General business; The first item on the adjenda was the up coming "Travel Mart" in Manila at the Trade Hall in Mega Mall. Our suggestion of the promo discount offer was happly accepted by the Provincial Tourism Office and a "sample" of the brochure was supplied for our purosal and to check the contact details Etc. We have also been invited to attend the Opening on Friday 09 September at 10 AM. It was decided that if we have enough people that we will Hire a Van to take the group down, departing Palmera Garden at 5AM and pick up along the way south ( 9 would mean a share of around P500.00 per person ) Any one else interested to go please contact Roger Bound at 0918 910 1280 and register your commitment. The Annual General Meeting was conveined and the New Officers are as Follows; Mr. Dodo Ramos remains as President, but will due to Family and Business Commitments be less active, He will be assisting and passing much of His work load to the new Vice President. Dr. Ernesto Abijay who is keen to learn and very enthuasistic about the direction the Association is taking. Secretary is Cynthia Fermil, Assistant Secretary Francis Completo, Treasurer, Vilma Mirador, Auditor Dr. Pito Doble and P.R.O. Roger Bound. Out hearty congratulations to all of the Officers and we look forward to their Induction on September 21. Please be there and give them all the support that you can.

July 2005

This Meeting was held at West Coast Beach Resort in Binoclutan Botolan, again unfortunatly the turn out was small. Our thanks to Jun and all the West Coast people for the venue and the snacks supplied. There was discussion on the up coming Travel fair in Manila and it was decided to offer a pronotion for the fair, this promotion will be by way of an advertising voucher covering all Z.R.O.A. Members. The Promotion will offer a discount on production of the voucher and will be valid from the time of the Fair, mid September, until October 30 only. Anyone wishing to participate in the Fair please be at the next meeting.

June 2005

The meeting was held at Enchanted Bukid in San Marcelino, unfortunately there was a poor turnout, with the result that the A.G.M. was postponed due to the lack of a quorum. Our thanks to the Host Helen Fel Cloma for the wonderful merinda She supplied, along with the very impressive tour of the venue. Also Resorts that are scheduled to be listed as the "Featured Resorts of the Month", please note; if we don't have pictures of your Resorts we cannot post them on the Web page. June Featured Resorts are Johnever Campsite, Sabangan Beach Resort and Summer Ichiban, who do not have a Photo amongst them. Thus it is a very plain and booring page at the moment. This is your opportunity to shine out and sell your Resorts ameneties, which is hard to do with out photos. So please all bring photos to the next meeting.

May 2005 It was decided that as everyone was so busy that there would be no May Meeting & scheduled the First Wednesday in June instead.

April 2005

The April meeting was held at the Z.R.O.A. Booth at the Dinamulag Festival in Iba. Unfortunately the turn out was poor. We had a guest who operates a business producing promotional materials, such as Key Rings, Ball pens, Coffee Mugs Etc. all with your Name on them. He can also do artwork, design and print Brochures Etc. You can contact Him through Dodo Ramos. The Booth at the Fiesta was manned by only a few Resorts, Beach Valley, Crystal, La Playa and Rama. Promotions such as this are a perfect venue for you to advertise and promote your Resort and "Drum up" additional Business. The ZROA Map/Brochure was available for distribution, as many people apparently wanted it as a "souvenir" it was decided to sell them at P20.00 at the Festival, a number were sold and some funds raised. Ideally it would be really good if a Roster system could be set up for such events so that all Members could benefit from the exposure. The following Night, Thursday, during a break in 2nd. Bikini Open at the Governors Rest House in Bangantalinga, there was an Official handing over of the Posters made from the Brochures to both the Governor and the Provincial Tourism Office. Some photos below (Click to enlarge)

March 2005.

The March Meeting was held at Country Cottage Resort in Castellijeos. Our thanks to Ms. Witney for the venue and merinda supplied. At last the long awaited Map/Brochure, which has taken some 7 months from its conception, is now a reality, 2 proofs were brought along by Roger and inspected, general consensus was good, the printer has now been notified that the "proof" is approved and to commence production. There has been a lot learned from this exercise, unfortunately many of the Members did not take full advantage by not bothering to supply all relevant information of their business for inclusion in the production. Dodo is going to arrange the collection from Manila in about 10 days time, so PLEASE GET YOUR PAYMENT TO HIM SO HE HAS THE FUNDS TO PAY THE BALANCE. It was suggested by Dodo that we organize a Press Launch of the Brochure in conjunction with the Mango Festival. La Playa Del Norte has generously offered their Resort for the Launch and with most of the Philippine Press being in Iba for the Festival we are hopeful of some good publicity. Stocks and Distribution will be under the control of Dodo and a Log will be kept of where it has been distributed, if you require stocks to distribute please contact Dodo. We have been offered a Booth in the Trade Fair section of "Dinamulag 2005", our sincere thanks to Governor Magsasysay and the Provincial Tourism office for this, all Members should avail of the opportunity to man the stall and promote their Business, if you have brochures, business cards and things to sell such as tee shirts Etc. you are welcome to distribute and sell them from the Booth. A "roster" is being prepared for Members to man the Booth and a person will be employed to keep all things secure. Johnny from White Castle Beach Resort in Iba is organizing the setup of the Booth. The April meeting will be at the Z.R.O.A. Booth near the Provincial Capital Building on Wednesday April 13 at 10:00AM SHARP you may need to bring a chair, so be prepared. This is a great venue to promote your Business with a large number of "out of Town visitors" about. The Provincial Tourism Office is asking our assistance with some of the events, such as the Sand Castling, so if you have some time please get involved and help out, you can volunteers your services at the meeting, for a full program of events CLICK HERE. Lets see a full roll up of Members on the 13th. REMEMBER 10:00AM SHARP.

February 2005.

Our thanks to Norma at PUERTO ASINAN BEACH RESORT for the venue for our meeting and the snacks and drinks provided. There was discussion on the Web site and the Zambales Resort Owners Association Map/ brochure. This is now in final stages of preparation and should go to the printers by early next week. All information is as per the current members listing on the web site, please make sure that you information listed there is up to date (Click here to check) If there are any changes please either Text them to Roger at 0918 910 1280, or phone Him or E-mail them to info@zambalesresorts.com no later than Sunday Feb. 13. That is the LAST DEADLINE FOR CHANGES OR ADDITIONS. The Web site is fully functual and operating I am endeavoring to update the photo gallery on a regular basis, however with little assistance from Members in supplying photos it is difficult. For this reason it is necessary to start a "Library" of Member Resorts and places of interest photos so that there is always something to draw from. These can also be used for photos for the "Featured Resorts" page on the Web site. So please bring photos of your resort and places of interest within you district to the next meeting, they can either be digital, prefered, or prints that we can have "scanned" and a digital image produced. Please also remember that if any of your information changes, phone number, fax number, E-mail address, amenities or anything, please immediatly E-mail the changes to info@zambalesresorts.com please mark "Attn Roger UPDATES" in the Subject line. Welcome to our newest member, BETTER DAYS PLACE RESORT, located at Dream Plaza in Subic, They were represented by Mr. Edwin R. Samala. A warm welcome to yourself and your organisation. Thank you also for the prompt supply of photo's and information which makes my job that much easier. Please all remember that all of the Officers and thoes that help out do it on a volentary basis, all that is recovered is "out of pocket expenses" and generally much of these are also volenteered, so please "Help us to help you" by keeping us up to date. It was suggested that we try to organise an "Official Launch" of the Z.R.O.A. Map and Brochure, this will take A LOT OF WORK in a short time frame, so it will need lots of co-operation from the members. Such as a venue, my suggestion is La Playa Del Norte, my reason is that Iba is centraly located in the Province, they have a "Function" area that can handle the number of people and most of all they have indicated that they are prepared to host it. Great, BUT we will also need the TOTAL commitment of all the Members to make it work, to supply the food, "Pot Luck" would be the best, in other words each Member supply some of the foods, we will need to have at least a dozen Members prepared to put in a lot of time to help prepare guest lists, contact major media, press and television, arrange accommodation and meals for the media and some of the Invited Guests. This will need to be "volenteed" by the Members. Assist with transportation, decoration Etc. Etc. All this can be thrashed out at the Next meeting, So it is very important that we have a full roll up of Members at the next meeting. If we do it, it is all going to have to be put together very fast inded, which will mean needing lots of helpers. Remember; This is your organization, with everything pulling together we can move all sorts of obsticles, so remember it is important to work together. A good point of this is the results of the associations negotitions with the D.E.N.R. about the Environmental Clearance Certificates (E.C.C.) The committees negotiations efectivally saved every Member Thousands of Pesos, by having the "Feasibility Study" and the "Environmental Fund" waived for Z.R.O.A. Members, not to mention that if any Members were in breach, that the Penalty was lowered from P50,000.00 to P5,000.00. Speaking of which, do you all have one now? If not then you can download one from here. Well that just about covers all, if any Members have anything to add please E-mail it to me for inclusion. So see you all at the next meeting, regards, Roger.

January 2005.

The January Meeting was held at Aplaya Del Subic Resort in Subic. Our thanks to our Host Flor Capati.Unfortunatly I was unable to make it as I had to take our Daughter to Hospital for Emergency treatment and no one managed to send me a report.

December 2004.

The December meeting and Christmas Party was held at Dawal Beach Hotel in Candaleria, our thanks to the Owners and Grace for the use of their Resort and function area for the meeting and Party. It was a "pot luck" for the foods and a great variety was available, our thanks also to our guests from the Subic Tourism Council and representatives from the Office of Investments and Tourism from the Provincial Government. A hearty thanks to all that have given their valuable time and assistance over the past year, especially our President Mr. Dodo Ramos and all Officers of the association, the Honorable Governor Vic Magsaysay and His staff in the Investment and Tourism Office for their valued assistance and also for the meeting venues for our meetings earlier in the year. We would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and a Happy and Prosperous New Year.

November 2004.

The November meeting was held at Canoe Beach Resort in Pundaquit San Antonio, this is a really picturesque area and a great view of the Islands was had from our meeting place on their second story terrace. We thank the Management of Canoe Beach Resort for the use of the venue and the tour of the rooms Etc. that we all had after the meeting. Discussion was had on the Poster / brochure and the forthcoming December meeting and Christmas party which will be held at Dawal Beach Hotel in Uacon Candaleria on Wednesday December 03.

October 2004

The October meeting was held at Summer Ichiban Beach Resort, San Felipe. Unfortunately I was unable to attend due to Illness, am awaiting feedback from members for a report.

September 2004.

The September Meeting was hosted by Palmera Garden Beach Resort in Iba. Our thanks to Eugen and Vilma for their support.

A guest speaker, Mr. Bruce Oliver from Environmental Protection of Asia Inc. gave a very informative insight into the organizations plans of creating "Turtle hatcheries" along the Zambales coast to aid in the protection of "Sea Turtles". He is externally interested in working closely with the Associations Members with this project, which has the added advantage for the Members of not only being involved in a valuable project, but attracting Tourists and publicity for our Province and Industry.

Roger Bound spoke on the results of the Brochure study and submitted prices Etc. after much discussion it was decided that it would need a commitment of P 4750.00 per member, which would include an advertisement on the reverse page, for a 20,000 unit first run. Resort advertising will only be available to Members and the P4750.00 commitment could be made over 2 concessive monthly installments. August 2004.

The August meeting was Hosted by Roger and Marichu Bound of Rama International Beach Resort in Iba, a good attendance was had and the following was decided. 1/ That a feasibility study would be conducted into producing a "map" type publication to promote Zambales and the Members of the Association. 2/ That a "Logo" be designed and that a choice of 3 or 4 samples be available for choice at the next meeting, discussion was had and it was decided that Mr. Alan Oliver, an English Expat graphic artist from Cabangan would be given the task. 3/ That the Web site www.zambalesresorts.com would be relocated to another Host, redesigned and again made operative. All of these tasks were left with Roger Bound and Dodo Ramos for action for the next meeting. It was decided that future meetings would be held, by ballot, alternately at Members Resorts, this would allow all Members to interact better and have a first hand experience of the various Members Resorts and facilities offered. Dodo spoke on the upcoming Travel Fair in Manila and the fact that it would be staffed by Members of the Governors Tourism Office and that Members should get their Brochures, cards Etc. to them before the end of the month. Meeting closed at 4:45 PM. Next venue would be Palmera Garden in Iba on Wednesday September 08.
